Learn how to make delicious One Pot Smoked Sausage Pasta Recipe. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Gathering the ingredients is a breeze, and you probably already have most of them in your pantry.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 14 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz pasta of your choice (penne or rotini work well)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a bit of heat)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Feel free to make this recipe your own by experimenting with different types of pasta or cheeses. My kitchen is my playground, and I encourage you to approach yours with the same spirit of adventure.

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the sausage from the pot and set it aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom of the pot. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  4. Add the pasta to the pot, stirring to ensure it’s submerged in the liquid. Cover and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once the pasta is cooked, stir in the cooked sausage and shredded cheddar cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir until the cheese is melted and the ingredients are well combined.
  6. Remove from heat and let the pasta sit for a couple of minutes to thicken. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

The aroma of garlic and sausage wafting through your kitchen will remind you that you’re creating something truly special. Cooking is an act of love, and this dish is a simple yet flavorful expression of that.
