To create these delightful cookies, you’ll need the following ingredients. Feel free to experiment with substitutions, just like I do when I’m in the kitchen!
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 large orange
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
Follow these steps, and you’ll have a batch of delightful cookies ready to share — or keep all to yourself!
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and orange zest.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the dried cranberries and walnuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
