Ingredients
Creating a delicious pink lemonade doesn’t require a long list of ingredients. With a few fresh and simple items, you can whip up this delightful drink in no time.
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately 6-8 lemons)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/2 cup cranberry juice (for that perfect pink hue)
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
If you prefer a less sweet version, feel free to adjust the sugar to your taste. You can also substitute cranberry juice with pomegranate juice for a slightly different flavor profile.
Instructions
- Start by juicing the lemons. Roll them on the countertop to release more juice before cutting them in half and squeezing out the juice. You should have about one cup of fresh lemon juice.
- In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice and sugar. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved. This step reminds me of helping my abuela stir her pots with patience and love.
- Add the cold water and cranberry juice to the pitcher. Stir to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the pink lemonade over the ice.
- Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired. These little touches were always my grandmother’s way of adding an extra layer of love and attention to what we served.
