Ingredients
- 2 cups finely chopped pecans
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Feel free to make this recipe your own by adding a splash of bourbon or rum for an adult twist. If you’re out of dark corn syrup, light corn syrup or even honey can be great substitutes.
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped pecans, graham cracker crumbs, and powdered sugar. Stir until well mixed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the dark corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly until the mixture is well combined and sticky.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill the pecan pie balls in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to let them set. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully.
- Before serving, you can roll the chilled balls in additional powdered sugar or finely chopped pecans for extra texture and flavor.
Pro tip from my kitchen: To make the process easier, lightly oil your hands before rolling the mixture—this keeps the sticky mess to a minimum!
