Ingredients
- 4 small round bread rolls or bowls
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
Feel free to substitute the marinara sauce with your favorite homemade or store-bought sauce. If you’re in the mood for a little heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the tops off the bread rolls and carefully hollow them out, leaving a sturdy shell.
- In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture on the inside and outside of the bread bowls.
- Place the bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy.
- While the bread bowls bake, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat. Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
- Spoon the spaghetti into the prepared bread bowls. Top with Parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. For an extra cheesy twist, add mozzarella cheese on top.
- Place the filled bread bowls back in the oven for another 5 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and the flavors to meld together.
