Learn how to make delicious Spicy Garlic Butter Ramen. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

To create this flavorful dish, you’ll need a handful of simple ingredients that come together to make magic:

  • 2 packs of instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste for spice level)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup scallions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 soft-boiled egg, halved (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

Feel free to substitute vegetable broth for a vegetarian version, or adjust the sriracha for less heat if desired. Make it your own!

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. This reminds me of helping my abuela stir her pots, the smell of garlic filling the kitchen.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce, sriracha, and sesame oil, mixing well to combine. Let this simmer for another minute.
  4. Add the chicken or vegetable broth to the skillet, bringing the mixture to a gentle boil.
  5. Once the broth is heated through, add the cooked ramen noodles, tossing them to coat well in the spicy garlic butter sauce.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in half of the scallions and cilantro.
  7. Divide the ramen between bowls, topping with the remaining scallions, cilantro, and a soft-boiled egg if using. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with lime wedges on the side.
