Ingredients
- 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Optional: Red pepper flakes for a hint of spice
For a little twist, you can substitute the sirloin with rib-eye or tenderloin, depending on your preference. And if you’re feeling adventurous, add a splash of soy sauce for an extra umami kick!
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. You want the oil to be hot, but not smoking.
- Season the steak cubes with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing them to sear and develop a nice crust.
- Flip the steak bites and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes for medium doneness. Adjust the time according to your preferred level of doneness.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, toss in the minced garlic. Stir continuously to avoid burning the garlic.
- Sprinkle in the chopped parsley and, if desired, a pinch of red pepper flakes for some heat.
- Remove from heat and let the flavors marry for a minute before serving. This is a little trick I picked up from my abuela, ensuring a rich, integrated taste.
