Learn how to make delicious Surf and Turf with Creamy Garlic Sauce. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye steaks, about 1 inch thick
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the ribeye steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Allow them to sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and rest them under foil.
  3. In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque. Transfer the shrimp to a plate and set aside.
  4. Lower the heat to medium and add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and butter to the skillet. Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Bring to a simmer and let it reduce slightly.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream, and let the sauce simmer until it thickens, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Return the shrimp to the skillet, coating them in the sauce. Serve the shrimp and sauce alongside the steak, garnished with fresh parsley.
